  • Go to your Start menu - bottom left of screen.
  • Open the Settings Tab and select Control Panel.
  • Double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon.
You window should now appear like similar to this:

If you want this mixer control to appear at the bottom right of your screen with other icons then tick the Place volume icon in the taskbar box

Click on the Advanced button.

Here is the main screen for all of your volume settings for inside your computer. By moving the sliders up and down you can increase and decrease the volume for each particular control. Depending on your settings you may have additional or less volume controls displayed.
Select the Options menu on the Volume Control panel then select Properties. Make sure you are viewing the Playback mode of the Volume Control.

The property window allows you to select which devices are visible for volume control. Simply tick the box of each device you want to control.

Now you control setting for your microphone, CD Player or CD-ROM drive, overall Volume Control, Wave, PC Speaker, Line In etc.
