When I first saw the XF in an ad I thought - what are they playing at!

Now that I have experienced one-well-what a fantastic addition to the already incredible Jaguar range. It really looks the part -very important-long low lines but plenty of muscle under the undulating bodywork. Has the same engine range as the S-type - so let's do that bit first;

There are 3 models

• Luxury - 2.7 diesel or with 3.0 V6
• Premim Luxury - choice of the above engines or the mighty V8 4.2
• SV8 4.2 Supercharged - big Jag with lots of extras

All three models are crammed with technology - and to mention a few of the special features we could list; 6 Speed auto gear box, Jaguar Drive Selector, Traction Control - that brings me onto the safety features

Safety
Airbags front and side/curtain air bags, ABS, Pedestrian Contact Sensing and all the usual fitments to keep you safe in this great looking sporty car.

Interior
Well where does one start! Lets look at the high end this time - switch on Jaguars 320 watt Premium Sound System - it will blow you away- and luxuriate in the full soft leather with memory function on driver and passenger seats. The usual high standard of fascias is evident in the guise of burr or American walnut. And of course you can choose a host of even more options from the extensive listen-although this will lighten your pocket considerably.

Performance
All Jaguar cars are fast - even although they are big cats the engines pack a real punch. Even the 2.7 Diesel option will take you from 0-60 in 7.7 seconds while top of the range SV8 blasts you to 60 MPH in just 5.1 seconds!

Summary
As usual the team at Jaguar backed with Ford finance and marketing have produced an absolute top drawer car - and again the opposition in this saloon executive market can only look on as another Jaguar sweeps by them into the future.
