So, you want to change your background to a single color?
- View your desktop and right-click on an empty space, away from any folders or shortcuts - select Properties.
- Select the Desktop tab from the menu.
- From the Background selection choose (None).
- Under the Color drop-down menu select a color from the menu or select Other. If you select Other then you can refine the color to the
specific shading you want. The best way is to experiment to see what suits your eyes and visibility of your desktop icons. Too bright
a color may be too bright for looking at over a long period time.
- 1. Select a free custom color box - empty ones are white.
- 2. Drag the selector close to your color.
- 3. Refind your color choice by dragging the pointer up or down (up for lighter, down for darker).
- 4. Click on Add to Custom Colors to add the color.
- Click on OK then Apply to view your new desktop color background.
Do you want to change your background to display an image or personal photo?
- Right-click your mouse over an empty space on your desktop and select properties.
- Select the Desktop tab then choose a Background image from the selection below.
- Click Apply to change to the new desktop image.
- If you want to change your desktop to a personal photo or your own custom design then select the Browse button and navigate to your image.
- IMPORTANT - Using a large photo for your background may slow up your machine so if you notice a difference then consider using a single color.
