Currently, there are no vaccines available to stop the H5N1 flu virus until the strain of the virus can be identified. However, some governments are stockpiling drugs, this is a
punitive measure and by far a waste of time. There is currently 6 billion people on the planet and only a select few would be able to take the drug - Should they be lucky enough that the drug works.
Some people think Tamiflu will protect against bird flu, this is not the case - however it can offer some protection against influenza.
